For the love of...food

I joined Oklahoma Women Bloggers this week in their blogging challenge, but yesterday's challenge was delayed because I'd been tagged in the Next Big Thing blog hop.  Check out what my next book is about here.

Friday's challenge was the love of food, so here's a little crockpot round up.

If I make it, it's easy.

Except for the time I tried Paula Deen's Lemon Blossoms aka lemon bombs, and that's not mentioned in our household, but you can read about it here. If you're brave, go ahead and try it as a dessert for any of the meals listed below.

I double-dog dare you.

Crockpot with Rich Gravy  Folks, there is no going wrong with this one. Four ingredients--one of them is water.

Crockpot Potato Soup  Perfect to have in your cauldron as St. Patrick's Day approaches!

Crockpot Dressing  Try the original recipe and you can't go wrong. It frees up your oven so the people who can cook can use it.

Crockpot Southwest Chicken Chili  Everything is in your pantry or freezer for this one.  It's the perfect thing to prepare for easy entertaining or to take to a friend.

To make life even more pleasurable, don't forget those crockpot liners.

Enjoy!

  1. I plan all my meals and then I hear how boring/gross/yuck they are. I don't care--it's much easier to plan ahead than stand at the refrigerator trying to figure it out.

    1. I agree! Nothing drains my creativity like the kitchen. As for the meals I make...Garrett says if they aren't pretty, he knows they'll taste good. I guess if it looks good, it's gross? *sigh* At least he likes cooking.

  2. Mmmmmm... all these sound tasty. The only time I hear complaints is when I try to make fish or seafood, then I hear about it for a week (the house smells). Whatever dude, it's good for you!

    1. They are tasty! If your family is a beef clan, try the round steak. I swear, you will love me forever. Seriously, let me know what you think.

Confession: Aside from fish sticks and those frozen fish squares, I've never cooked fish.It seems so hard. Garrett on the other hand cooks it for us at least once a week. His cooking is so fancy, I'd think we were in a nice restaurant--except for the kids crying/climbing on us.

  3. I used to plan meals before I went grocery shopping. Still do, just not as exacting. Did you know that the crockpot is one of a quilter's top ten items to have in her sewing box?
