Writer's Wednesday: The Hunger Games

I'm a big fan of the young adult novel The Hunger Games.   I blogged about it here, here, and here. It's one of those books that makes me miss teaching because I'd love to discuss it with teenagers.

Prepare yourself.

First we had the book to movie mania of Harry Potter, then Lord of the Rings, and most recently Twilight.  Now, movie goers are ready for some science fiction. The Hunger Games will be in theaters on March 23, 2012.

Who else is excited?

Peeta, the boy with the bread

Katniss and Gale hunting

So...what do you think?

May the odds be ever in your favor.

  1. I'm so scared. I can't decide if I want to see it or not, because I don't want it to be ruined. I loved the books too much. :]

I totally understand your apprehension. Real people on a movie screen rarely match up to the world and people I create in my head. Sometimes they make an alternate and pleasant version, though, so I'm preparing myself for a new and wonderful experience. I hope we're not disappointed! The trailer is promising.

Oh, I know that anticipation. My kindle was fairly new when I read the second book and thought I just hadn't figured out how to work it when I tried to download the third. Then I discovered I had to wait MONTHS for Mockingjay's publication! So, I read the first two all over again. Crazy.

Let me know what you think of the third. It's intense.
